About Our Portrait Painting Classes
Our portrait classes take place on Sundays. We start at 10.30 am and finish at 5.00 pm. The model holds the same pose all day, so this is a great opportunity to produce a resolved painting or drawing. You need to bring your own art materials (whichever you prefer), but easels and drawing boards are available. The teaching approach is informal and tailored to your individual needs. The pattern of the day is: three 45 minute sessions in the morning separated by 15 minute breaks, an hour for lunch, then three 45 minute sessions in the afternoon. The cost to attend a class is only £35 - it's the cheapest portrait painting class in London!
We meet in studio 26 in Kingsgate Workshops, a former Victorian piano factory in West Hampstead which has been converted into a studio complex housing nearly fifty artists, designers and makers. The area has excellent transport links: Kilburn, Brondesbury, West Hampstead and Kilburn High Road stations are all close by and parking is free in the local roads at weekends.
